After feeling a lump in my right breast in late July 2017, I made an appointment with my gynecologist. After an examination in early September, she ordered a mammogram and ultrasound, which led to a biopsy of the lump and my right lymph node. I met with my doctor to get the results on September 19, 2017 and the found out that the cells were cancerous. Everything was a whirlwind after this visit. I met with a breast surgeon, oncologist, and went through a ton of testing (MRI, PET scan, etc). My oncologist recommended chemo first, to shrink the lump and prevent additional spreading, before surgery. I started chemo on October 16, 2017. It's going to be a long journey, but I'm staying positive and taking it one step at a time!
