Welcome to my CaringBridge website or, as I am going to call it, my Boob Blog. I will be using it to keep family and friends updated and maybe even entertained! I am calling it an adventure as I am embarking on an exploration of unknown territory. My story starts with a journey I took in 2013 (you know I can't tell a short story!). During a routine mammogram, in August of 2013, they found I had a bad right boob. With a couple of surgeries (lumpectomy), plus a couple months of being radiant (radiation daily), I thought the journey was over. I called that experience the bump in the road of life. Apparently this time, my road of life has a pothole now. Roadwork is up ahead! So again, August of 2017, during a routine mammogram they found a return of the D.C.I.S. (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) plus I have another kind of cancer too. The other cancer is more aggressive so my doctors are treating it more aggressively. Bad Boob is back! Early detection is the message here so go get your checkups people! So here is where I will keep you abreast of my health adventures. This adventure will be as much of a mental journey as a physical one so I appreciate all your good positive thoughts. The support and words of hope and encouragement have already overwhelmed me. Please be assured I will get through this just fine! Thank you for traveling with me on this adventure!
