One evening the second to last last weekend of January, Jeff and I were watching tv, I felt what seemed like an electric shock shoot through my right breast into my armpit, I reached to massage it away and I felt the lump/mass. The following Wednesday, January 27, I saw my nurse practitioner, Grayce, who did an exam and referred me for a mammogram/ultrasound on 2/9, on 2/17 I had a biopsy of the lump and a lymph node, on 2/19 I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) and yes, there is also cancer in the lymph node biopsied. I then went for and MRI on Tuesday, 2/23 and got the preliminary report today which shows the primary tumor is 2.5cm with another nodule that is 7mm and the thickening of the malignant axillary lymph node measures 1.5mm and there is cortical thickening of other nodes. I will be going to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) but do not have an appointment set as of yet.
If you know me well, you know that I’m typically very private unless it is something God leads me to to talk about and/or I’m comfortable with you, this is different and I’m way out of my comfort zone letting my private life be public but the power of prayer has already given me a peace the surpasses all understanding. (Philippians 4:6) I don’t know much but I know our family has a journey ahead and God will carry us through.
