I apologize for the long time between posts. I last noted that Lisa was scheduled for another colonoscopy in March. Fortunately, she has not been hospitalized since March. The colonoscopy did show that there was no active colitis and the biopsies showed no other intestinal illness. Lisa did have another bout of UTI in April, and we think there may have been undiagnosed ones over the late spring and summer.On the brighter side, we did take a successful trip to Walt Disney World with Micah in late April. We had a great time, despite my forgetting to pick up a package of tea that I had bought for Lisa from the restaurant where we ate, and again forgetting a seat cushion that I had put in a drawer in the hotel room. Disney's lost and found department came to the rescue in both cases.The only mishap during the visit was caused by a wet floor in a companion restroom, of which there were many provided in the parks. Lisa slipped as she was transferring from her power chair to a toilet. I was holding her and she came down hard on a wheelchair arm, but she did not fall to the floor. The chair arm broke, and we bandaged it with a literal bandage until we could bring to the repair shop on our return home.Since Feburary, Lisa had been experiencing a jaw infection resulting from her detiorating and remaining lower teeth. She was referred to a prosthodontist and an oral surgeon and after exams, imaging, and a long wait, on July 30th she had surgery to remove teeth and insert implants in her lower jaw. She now has a temporary denture, so she can make a real smile. The implants will take up to three months to fully integrate, so she is on a diet restricted to very soft foods and liquids.The Disney trip was just shy of fifty years since Lisa and I made our first joint visit to the parks. This fact allows me to segue to the following question for you: What do the film "Jaws," "SNL," and Lisa and I have in common? Answer: We all are celebrating our fiftieth anniversary this year, and more particularly for us, our wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 23rd. We plan to enjoy meals with our kids and grandkids that day. We are also trying to plan a trip in the near future. One that we had planned to Washington, D.C. in July did not work out. We're aiming to travel in early fall, when Lisa can take a real bite of her suppers!
