Lisa DelMuro Our Amazing Lisa-D!!!

First post: Apr 14, 2013 Latest post: May 5, 2017
Welcome to our CaringBridge site for Lisa Del Muro (that's del Muro, Mrs. D or D Money to her students). This site has been created by Mary Faith, one of Lisa's best friends to keep friends and family updated. Art and Mary Faith will provide updates as Lisa progresses through recovery, and treatment as much as possible. After the first few weeks, I am sure Lisa will take this site over. In the meantime, Lisa appreciates everyone's support and encouragement during this time.

A new normal has fallen upon the Del Muros, nothing we can't handle. But here is the backstory.Lisa had a seizure the morning of April 8, 2013, (2 actually). She was found unconscious in the parking lot of our lifetime fitness after her workout. We are thankful it occurred when she was not behind the wheel. The doctors quickly discovered a mass in the left frontal lobe of her brain. She had a frontal cranial resection to remove the tumor (2 cm) Tuesday. They got it all out. We are thankful it was small and caught early. The doctor was very positive about the operation and said she is going to be the same hard charging women we know. That section of the brain is cheap real estate according to the neurosurgeon, whom we have nicknamed Dr. Butter Buns for his apparent hotness according to Lisa and her sisters.

The tumor was a Grade IV, Glioblastoma Multiforma. They tend to recur, so Lisa will go through treatment to make sure this one is gone and we will develop a regiment to watch for more. Don't go shaving your head yet, because the chemo Lisa will going through apparently respects the hair and will not affect her appetite. In fact, the more active Lisa stays the better. So if you see her, don't baby her, that's my job.We are very positive, there have been some huge advances in treatment in the past few years. Our family is used to adversity so we got this!
