Welcome to our CaringBridge website!  I am Lisa and this is my dog, Kaylee.  I am an Air Force veteran.  I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ breast cancer on December 17, 2021. but let me back up a bit.  I picked Kaylee up from the Oxford, Maine Shelter in October 2021 she was there because her owner had passed away.  Kaylee had been diagnosed with Mast Cell Tumors some months ago.  I had seen her on Face Book and thought we could give her a wonderful end of life.  She has had chemotherapy and other treatments but was miserable afterwards.  She is 13 years old and in hospice here at our house.  Before we got Kaylee, I was not feeling myself for a few months.  I have SAD every year at this time and was exhausted from a new job I had just started as a realtor.  But after we took Kaylee home, my life changed!  She is so energetic and sweet!  She loves to run and play, doesn't mind our 5 kitties much and has walked me more than 278 miles since we have had her.  I have watched her loving life and it has helped me so much.  When I received my diagnoses last week, I was of course scared and in shock.   But I just know that if I can stay as positive as Kaylee, as sick as she is, I will be okay no matter what comes down the road.  So, this page is going to be about both of us:)   Be good to each other. XO
