- December 15, 2015 is a day we will never forget. It was the day Lisa, our amazing wife, mother, sister, friend, and HEROheard those awful words. "You have cancer." Lisa was diagnosed with Lung cancer, and we were all hopeful that it was caught early. On January 11, she had a lobectomy done to remove the upper lobe of her left lung and surrounding lymph nodes. After the surgery, we were shocked and devastated to find out that although the surgeon was able to remove all of the cancer in her left lung, it had spread to a lymph node in her chest. She was diagnosed with Stage 3a Lung Cancer and would need to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. - The roller coaster of emotions and feelings that we have been riding on since that first day has been encompassing!! Fear, anxiety, sadness, anger, shock, grief, disbelief, a sick feeling in the pit of our stomach are just to name a few that we felt in the first 30 seconds after hearing the diagnosis. Then after hearing that it had spread, those same emotions came back (but we added REALLY REALLY PISSED OFF and "wait, you have the wrong Lisa, this CAN'T be happening to someone who has BEEN THROUGH SOOOO MUCH IN HER LIFETIME!!! HOW MUCH MORE CAN ONE PERSON HANDLE!????") - Each day can be a struggle, but each day gets a little brighter, each day gets a little easier. But in all of those emotions we felt, we also felt an enormous amount of support, love, friendship, and positivity!!! Faith, Hope, and Love have never faltered, never wavered, and have been riding the roller coaster with us holding on to us tight, especially to Lisa!!! They prevail!! With your prayers and positivity, you have given Lisa STRENGTH TO FIGHT HER HARDEST BATTLE YET!!! We welcome and thank all of you, Lisa's prayer warriors, for your support and dedication to Lisa as she turns her power on and FIGHTS!!!!!!!!! - "She believed she could, so she did." LISA is DETERMINED TO FIGHT LIKE HELL!!!!!!
