Lindsey was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on January 17th, 2022. This discovery was made when she passed out and broke her nose on January 11th, 2022. This event was unrelated to symptoms of leukemia, but the doctor at Urgent care wanted to do some blood work just to make sure that everything was in check. Unfortunately, after a few more rounds of blood tests and a bone marrow biopsy, the diagnosis was given. Seeking treatment at the University of Nebraska Medical Center was without a doubt the most sensible option. UNMC offers the best specialized care as well as being the most practical choice for Lindsey and her family. She was admitted to the Fred and Pamela Buffet Cancer Center on January 21st, where she began her first day of chemotherapy against AML.
