Thank you for visiting.  My journey began in 2011 when a tiny bit of squamous cell carcinoma was found after undergoing a hemorroidectomy.  It happened again in 2014 - same surgery.  In 2017, a biopsy performed during a routine colonoscopy revealed a more invasive form of the same cancer.  Six weeks of radiation and two rounds of chermotherapy followed.  A routine follow-up CT scan revealed additional spread of the cancer in the fall of 2019.  Major surgery followed but this stubborn strain just wouldn't go away.  It spread to my liver.  After 9 rounds of chemotherapy and 4 rounds of immunotherapy, we are accepting that this cancer might just win.  It's been a hell of a fight.
