Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated during our "adventure" in Seattle.  Dave and I will probably both be "talking" to you via this site.  You are able to "talk back" to us and we will value your  support and words of hope and encouragement throughout the days ahead!

We leave for Seattle on Saturday, April 8th and check in at the clinic on the 12th.  We will be in Seattle a minimum of 4 months, and possibly as long as 6. As you might imagine, there is a lot to get done before we can leave for that long. And, of course, we are feeling a fair amount of anxiety for what is to come! This procedure is not without significant risk.

We ask you to keep us in your prayers. To be specific, our requests are:

1. That an apartment will open up in the Pete Gross House as soon as possible. This is the best place for us to live, but getting in is difficult. We will be staying in a more communal living space until an apartment opens up. Our desire: that an apartment will be available the day we arrive!

2. That there will be no complications following the transplant! Especially dangerous are: an infection (I will have literally no immune system for a period of time) and Host vs. Graft disease (essentially, the new stem cells attacking my organs - yuck). Both are treatable, if they do occur - as long as they are mild.

3. Financial provision of the additional $25,000 we will need to pay for our living expenses, the MANY prescriptions I will have and any unforeseen medical costs that may come up.  We have set up a Go Fund Me Page for those of you who may want to help us financially. You can access our Page at: www.gofundme.com/lindas-stem-cell-transplant

One friend sent us this wish: "May your treatments go better and be even more successful than you can even imagine!" That led us to adopting Ephesians 3:20 as our theme verse for this adventure:  Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Thank you for walking this journey with us!  --Linda & Dave
