Welcome to our CaringBridge website for our mom, Linda. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. You have no idea how much we appreciate your support, words of hope and encouragement and prayers mean to all of us girls and to Mike. We thank you for visiting mom's site. As many of you know, our mom has been fighting this horrible disease of Stage 3 (now 4) Endometrial cancer. Her journey started over 6 years ago. This past June she started back on a maintenance routine of Chemo, one time a month. On Monday, August 14th she had her regularly monthly treatment. A few days prior to that, she had not been feeling well and was starting to get double vision and feeling very off balanced on her feet. On the 14th, the day of her chemo, she was very unsteady on her feet and needed help walking into the hospital. Fast forward to Saturday, the 19th, she went to see her family doctor because her symptoms were getting worse as the week progressed. She was sent for a CAT Scan and they discovered that she had 3 large lesions by her optic nerve and some frontal lobe left brain swelling with some more dark spots. She was sent home and was told to see her cancer doctor on Wednesday for a follow up as to see how to proceed. But by Monday night she needed admitted into the hospital. She was severely dehydrated and could not keep liquids and food down. Plus she could not walk without support of another person. She was admitted into LGH on Monday night and they did more testing. As we found out from the MRI, she has many lesions in her brain in addition to the 3 large lesions by the optic nerve. She was released from the hospital on Thursday, 24th to start a radiation treatment plan. Her treatment plan is 10 total radiation treatments on her head (not weekends and holidays) . As of today, she has 4 more treatments to go.
