Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting the site.

Linda had not been feeling well for several days. Yesterday morning, she asked Amber to call the ambulance, and they came to take her to the hospital with acute shortness of breath. In the ambulance, Linda's heart stopped. There was only one person in the back of the ambulance with Linda, and he started chest compressions. The ambulance pulled over, and shortly thereafter two more EMTs climbed aboard, and they put in a breathing tube and started breathing for her. They eventually resuscitated her, and she is in the ICU at LGH. The medical staff have a 'balloon pump' assisting her heart to beat, and a ventilator breathing for her. She is sedated. There are a number of issues--a urinary tract infection, a fever, and very low kidney function, to name a few. The most important one, though, is that her brain may have been without oxygen for long enough to cause damage. They evaluated her brain function with an EEG earlier today, and the results were not encouraging.

As her daughter Amber put it earlier today, Linda can use all the prayer, good mojo, and well-wishes we can muster. Please join us in supporting Linda, her daughter Amber and son(-in-law) Court, her dear friend Ernie, her brother David and his wife Chris, her sister Janell and her husband Verle and the others who love her through this tough time.
