Welcome to Linda's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated. We appreciate your support, prayers, and words of hope and encouragement.


We received some very difficult news this month. Linda had a routine follow-up scan of her adrenal gland on April 5th. The scan showed no concern with the adrenal gland; however, it revealed a mass on her pancreas.  Further imaging, bloodwork, and biopsy resulted in an April 18th diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer with metastasis to her lung.  Because the cancer has spread, she is not a candidate for surgery.  Rather, she has elected to begin a two-drug chemotherapy regimen as recommended by her oncologist.  Her first chemo infusion took place on April 27th at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, which she tolerated quite well.


We were shocked to learn about this cancer diagnosis.  Linda has been feeling healthy and has not experienced symptoms.  Earlier this winter, she was in Arizona before returning home for us to travel together to Colorado for a family ski trip.  Upon returning home to Minnesota, she planned to sneak in a couple of doctor appointments before heading back down south.


Of course, Linda has a very positive attitude and is looking forward to enjoying our time together in the near future.  She just turned 76 on April 19th and celebrated alongside Tami, Kim, and Christine with a spontaneous girls trip to Arizona to see David Foster in concert.  A perfectly timed adventure!  As Linda often says, "God is in charge."  We know that to be the case, and Linda says she already feels so much love and is so appreciative for all the prayers that have been surrounding our family these past few weeks.  We're planning to do some fun things with Linda in the weeks and months ahead and we will be sure to provide updates, pictures, and stories as often as possible.
