Hi, my name is Lily. On September 24, 2016 I was diagnosed with a rare blood disease called HLH. September 16th was my first time being admitted into the hospital. My family was completely shocked and confused because I was the kid who never got sick. I have one brother Theodore and one sister Cadence. I've had so many doctors, that its come to the point where I cant go to Phoenix Children's Hospital without being recognized and stopped (to talk).
With my disease, you treat it like cancer, so due to the chemo, I did lose my hair. It was very hard for me to accept the hair loss but as time went on, I learned to accept it. When I first came out of the hospital I realized I had changed as a person. I was now closer to my mom, but more fragile and sensitive. This was also very hard for me because before all of this I was an athlete, I loved playing volleyball.
