Lily Pham

Welcome to Lily’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. 


As many of you know, Lily overcame undifferentiated liver sarcoma at the age of 5.  We were blessed with excellent care which allowed her to return to the important business of being a child.  After 5 years of regular, clear scans, Lily was considered cancer free.  She is now a high school junior who bikes, hikes, skis, runs (she completed her first half marathon at age 13), swims (she placed first in her age group at the Escape from the Rock (Alcatraz) duathlon),  and plays on her high school volleyball and soccer teams. She even earned her scuba diving certification at age 12! Clearly, she inherited a love for challenge and adventure. 


Beyond her physical accomplishments, Lily is a brilliant young mind who is headed for amazing accomplishments. She is a kind, caring, helpful, and humble young woman.  She has an incredible group of friends that mean the world to her. 


Lily was admitted to Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital in mid-October with a mass near her lung.  After careful and extensive testing, the mass was confirmed to be cancerous.  The cancer is contained within that tumor and has not spread.   She began chemotherapy treatment on October 23rd to shrink the tumor before removing it.  She will be in  and out of the hospital as her treatment progresses.  The chemo will suppress her immune system, which means she can only have visitors during certain periods of the chemo cycle.  If you want to visit, please confirm with the family before embarking.  Any/all visitors cannot be sick whatsoever.
