A little of Lily’s story:
Late last year Lily was having some knee pain, from what we assumed was caused by an injury while we were vacationing in Florida in August. It continued on and off for a few months until the pain was bad enough to get an MRI. None of us expected the results. The week after Thanksgiving it was confirmed that Lily has a rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma. She had a 14 cm high grade tumor in the tibia of her right leg. We thank the Lord her cancer is confined to that area and has not spread anywhere else in her body. Lily’s oncologists (who we love) Dr. Pope set the game plan and we jumped right on treatment.

Lily has a total of 29 weeks of 3 different kinds of chemotherapy. It’s often referred to as MAP and is one of the stronger regiments to fight this aggressive form of cancer. She will have surgery on her leg on February 25th to remove the tumor. We will meet with the surgeon on February 17th to determine what option is going to work best for her. After surgery she will finish out the remaining doses of chemo and will start physical therapy.

Lily had her first dose of chemo on December 2nd. She has had a rough start and the side effects of chemo have been pretty difficult to handle but, she is so brave getting through this and still continues to have that beautiful smile on her face. On the good days, Lily works hard to get her assignments completed so she can finish out her senior year and graduate with her class.

Our family is putting all of our trust and hope in the Lord as we know his plan for Lily is good and surpasses our understanding. Thank you all so much for the prayers and encouragement and we are so thankful for everyone we have to lean on!
