Lilly Beagle

Lilly, the beagle, was recently diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD).  She required emergency surgery on her spine on 10/24/17 at  Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in Rhode Island after experiencing sudden lameness in both of her rear legs following a routine potty walk.

A MRI had reveled she had a ruptured disc and two bulging discs. These discs cause pain, nerve damage and could cause paralysis. Breeds of dog that are predisposed to IVDD include the Dachshund, Beagle, Basset Hound, and Shih Tzu.

Per the surgeon, Lilly would benefit from physical therapy to fully recover and walk again. Nerves regenerate very slowly, but healing does occur. Her physical therapy may need to be done for weeks or months but she is up for the challenge! So far, the out of pocket cost has been $5269.60 for emergent and life-saving services. Although we are hoping to recoup some of this cost through her pet insurance,  the pet insurance doesn't cover everything. That is why we are seeking your support!Even the smallest of donations will add up giving Lilly a fighting chance for a full recovery and quality of life.

Please help Lilly to have more years to her life and more life in her years! Thank you!
