Welcome to Mom/Grandma/May's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Last Sunday night Mom woke up with pain in her joints due to the onset of gout. Even with that, Tuesday Jeff went with her to renew her driver's license, an amazing thing for someone who is almost 90. But by Wednesday the gout medicine was making her nauceous and things were becoming more difficult. By God's grace Chris and Joshua were already on their way in for a few days' visit, something we are all thankful for. Anna and then Jeff and I were able to come in to help Mom when Chris and Joshua needed to head to Danville on Saturday. That evening it took both of us to help Mom move from her chair to the seat of her walker, etc. and later into bed.
That brings us to today, Sunday, November 4th. This morning Mom was too weak to sit up in bed even with our assistance and support so we decided to call the paramedics and head for the ER. We have a diagnosis beyond the gout of pneumonia and a UTI. Mom continues to be weak and needs help with eating and drinking. We are praying the antibiotics and other medications will affect a rapid recovery and we can be home again soon. Thank you for visiting. We appreciate your love and prayers.
