What a whirlwind these last few days have been. Backtrack to June 8th 2022 when we found out that we would be welcoming identical twins into this world sometime around Christmas 2022 so we thought. With identical twins there are many risks one of them being twin to twin transfusion syndrome. I had been monitored closely with ultrasound every other week. Ultrasound on 10/10 looked good they were growing well had equal amounts of fluid and no concerns. Due to carrying twins I had been a lot more uncomfortable and was trying multiple things to relieve back pain and discomfort that I was having. 10/19 I had my regular ob appointment and everything was still looking and sounding good. 10/20 After work I just didn’t feel right was having lots of back pain and felt nauseous and like I was going to pass out. Karl took kora to the farm and let me try and rest at home. But I called him home a short time later and decided to go into Alexandria to get checked out as I was feeling the same pains and symptoms as I had when I was in labor with kora. I was having contractions and was dilated to 1cm so since I was only 28weeks I was sent to for further evaluation. After a long night they did ultrasound in the morning to check on the status of the twins and it was found that in a matter of 9 days they had developed and were being affected by twin to twin transfusion syndrome. With the ttts the fluid levels were affecting them and it was decided that they would get me my second steroid shot for there lungs and I would be having a c section on Saturday morning. At 28weeks and 2days. They were born via c section on 10/22/22 at 2lb 13oz and 2lb 3oz. We will all have a long road ahead of us.
