On Sunday while dancing in LaCrosse, Lewey experienced shortness of breath. During a Tuesday visit to the ER a CAT scan relieved a 6 cm mass in his left lung. Wednesday he saw Dr. Kidess, a pulmonologist, and after several appointments, labs, a biopsy, an MRI, a PET scan, more labs it has been confirmed that he has stage 4 lung cancer in his left upper lobe. There is some limited lymph node involvement around the tumor in the lung (NOT IN THE ARM PIT AREA). The cancer has NOT spread to his liver, bones, or kidneys, but it has metastasized to his brain. Appointments have been set up with the radiation oncologist and the oncologist later this week. We will post information as it is available.
