Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Thursday November 9, 2017, started like any other normal Thursday morning in the Graham house. Levi left the house around 7:30 am to head to Central High School where he is a Junior in the IB Certificate Program. Jeff and Lora left shortly thereafter for Jeff to drop off Lora at New Covenant Academy where she is a Freshman, then Jeff was headed to the HPG Support Center office in Willard to work for the day. Maggie works from home in the Accounting department for HPG.

Everything suddenly changed when Levi was in a severe car accident as he was leaving our neighborhood. He was transported to Cox South by ambulance and was quickly admitted to the Neuro Trauma ICU. He sustained multiple life threatening injuries in the accident, the two major ones being a thoracic aortic transection and occipital cervical dislocation. Both of these injuries have very high mortality rates and multiple physicians have told us it's a miracle that Levi survived, not just one but both of these injuries. We thank God for these miracles. Levi was in the NTICU for 8 days and was then transferred to the Pediatric unit at Cox South. He was transferred by Angel MedFlight on November 27 and we are now at an inpatient rehabilitation facility. His caregivers continue to be amazed at his progress.

Based on his traumatic brain injury and the stroke that he suffered due to his other injuries, Levi needs specialized rehabilitation. There were no local facilities in our insurance network that provided this level of specialized rehab. The next step will be deciding on where to go for outpatient rehab. Due to the limited number of therapy visits available in a calendar year on our insurance benefit schedule, we will have out of pocket costs.

Please visit the Ways to Help section for options on how you can help Levi on his road to recovery.
