For several months Leslie has been having increasing discomfort in her abdomen, especially after eating. A scan in October showed gallstones, which she initially assumed explained the problems. A consultation with a surgeon, however, left questions about whether that diagnosis really fit the symptoms, and further tests were scheduled. While waiting for these tests, the pain increased, resulting in an ER visit late on New Years Day 2017. In the wee hours, a scan revealed a much more sinister truth: a tumor in the pancreas. And life was immediately turned upside down...
