Rest in Peace, Dear Les

Dear Family and Friends,

We wanted to update this Home page tab to reflect that Our Lord has taken Les home.
Please go to the Journal tab to read the history of what’s happened, as well as memorial service information.
Below is the original posting that provides a brief history.

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for visiting the Les Ibach page on this “update website”.

We are SO very grateful for your thoughts and prayers, as well as visiting this page for the daily updates on Les. As you can imagine, it’s become very hard to respond individually to all who care about Les.

Brief background: last Saturday (11/24) Les had a brain MRI that indicated a 90% blockage in his carotid artery on the left side. This absolutely required a surgery to open that artery and remove the blockage (procedure: carotid endarterectomy). A known low-potential risk of the procedure was a post-operative stroke, and that is what unfortunately happened. Even with all medications to prevent – a blood clot still developed and hit his brain.

Dealing with the clot involved going under anesthesia again (twice in 24 hrs), and a stent installed (threaded up thru the arteries from the groin to the brain).

So, right now, Les is dealing with the difficulties of recovering from two general anesthesias and what we hope was only a mild stroke.

An accurate prognosis is really impossible at this moment. What we are expecting is at least several weeks of hospitalization, followed by an unknown length of time in rehab facility to regain functions.

Please continue your prayers for Les, and come back “here” for frequent updates.

Much Love,

The Les Ibach Family
