Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

LeRoy has been having some unusual health issues since Christmas.  Strange, itchy rash on his arms.  Doctored, but nothing made much sense.   Next was severe pain in his left leg.  After a couple of doctor visits, they diagnosed him with type 2 diabetes.  Still unsure about the leg pain, an ultrasound was ordered.  They found blood clots in his lower left leg.  Mmmm...why the blood clots?  We were referred by our family doctor to Dr. Swanson, an internist that specializes in blood clots.  He was very thorough, and went through lots of questions and some tests.  The numbers on some of the tests came back in a "grey area" and he decided to be on the safe side and ordered a CT scan.  Didn't think there was anything to worry about, so Monday, June 5 they did a CT scan.   We received a phone call saying "we have your test results, can you come to our office in 15 minutes."  This is a phone call you never want...they found a mass on the tail of his pancreas.  While this was scary news, Dr. Swanson was quickly making arrangements for a trip to Mayo with the specialists!   Our first appointment in Rochester was Thursday, June 8th.
