Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Leo was critically injured on the early morning of October 19 in a pedestrian vs. auto accident in downtown Durango.  He suffered multiple blunt trauma injuries including 11 rib fractures in the right chest, a lacerated right kidney, a dislocated left shoulder, a right tibial plateau fracture, and a multiple contusions and scrapes. He did not lose consciousness and did not suffer a major head injury.  He was flown (Flight For Life) shortly after the accident from Mercy Regional in Durango to St. Anthony's Trauma Center Denver. He has been here, with family, since the afternoon of the 19th. Currently, his condition has stabilized, but he will continue to be at risk for a variety of complications for quite some time. Leo will have a long  and challenging road in his recovery both physically and mentally. Small incremental improvement with ups and downs will likely be our new normal. But, even the small positives will add up over time... something we all can hold on to.... its called hope. Your thoughts and prayers will be invaluable to him... and for all of the family. Thank you.
