On Wednesday, January 31, 2018, Jian Hao ("Leo") Kuang and his grandmother were struck by a hit-and-run driver as they were crossing Freeport Boulevard while walking home from school. Leo and his grandmother were transported to UC Davis Medical Center with serious, critical injuries as a result of the collision where them remain fighting for their lives.
Leo is a first grade student at Sutterville Elementary School. He transferred from another area school to Sutterville Elementary this school year, after having relocated to Sacramento in 2016. Leo has sustained some very serious injuries, and the extent of his further, continuing treatment or recovery are unknown at this time.
While their dear family members remain hospitalized, Leo's parents are keeping vigil and staying by their side 24/7. They have taken time off from work to stay at the hospital during this critical time. The extent of how long they will remain off from work is unknown.
With the permission of Leo's family, the Sutterville Elementary School family is setting up this site in hopes of generating financial donations to help Leo's family with costs of medical costs, income loss, and other expenses that arise as a result of this tragic incident. We also hope to provide updates on Leo and his family through this site as we learn the Kuang family.
Our hearts and prayers are with the Kuang family, as we also respectfully as that your respect the family's privacy during this very difficult and precarious time. Any contributions received through this donation site are greatly appreciated.
