I would like to thank my cousin, Lauren, for calling me last night and volunteering to set this page up for me. I said, "Why haven't I thought of this?" Her response: "Well, Deanna, you've had your plate full." So true.

I would also like to thank everyone who has sent thoughts, prayers, food for my dad (to keep him from continuing to resort to hospital vending machines), and everything else y'all have done for us during this time.

20 days. Today is the 20th day my mom has been in the hospital. Her condition is advanced, and rather complicated. It is so tough going over it so many times. I have posted a link below to a page explaining Portal Vein Thrombosis. What we all need to remember and understand, is that this is a chronic problem, as opposed to acute - which comes on suddenly, and would be more likely "fixable" - chronic means we have no idea how long Mom has had PVT. There is no quick fix, and unfortunately, a slim chance there is a fix at all.

I will update more on what is happening next later on today. I may also get to the point where I explain in more detail.

Again, thank you all for everything, and continued prayers.
