Welcome to our Caringbrige site dedicated to the one and only, Lee Hitzeman. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Lee was brought to the hospital on Saturday, February 10th. He had been having tremors, trouble with speech and confusion. Lee was admitted immediately for tests. They did two different MRI's, a lumbar puncture, and lots of blood work. The doctors came to the diagnosis of encephalitis. Right now he is receiving lots of antibiotics, fluids and anti-viral medication. His tremors have gone down significantly, which is allowing him to rest. He spends most of his day sleeping and will occasionally try to say something. Lee still has his sense of humor and Aneita, his kids and grandkids keeping a close, loving eye on him. Please check back for updated journal entries and keep him in your prayers.
