Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
On March 22nd I took an unexpected trip. It wasn't the vacation I needed, but it's the one I'm getting. During a 5 minute work break I landed on a rocky road (not ice cream) and created quite a scene. My neighbors came to the immediate rescue quickly followed by Chris, the fire department, and then an aid car. The sound track was something of a nightmare of sounds; screaming and swearing and wondering if my head was bleeding or my neck was broken and thankfully after 7 hours in the ER it was only 2 broken elbows, broken forearm, bruised tailbone, a pounding headache and a very bruised ego.
On March 24th I learned of the need for surgical repair of my left wing scheduled for March 30th followed by approximately 2 months of recovery. The right wing should heal in a sling in about 6 weeks.
What does this mean? It means I can't cook for my household, drive to my appointments, or walk my dog, and I am out of work for about 2 months. In fact, it means that I am dependent on your generosity. I am grateful for the many offers of support, and this Caring Bridge shows you how you can help. I appreciate support in all forms; transportation, yard work, meal prep, feeding me and running errands. You'll see the various ways you can support me and my family on the Planner. Be on the lookout for a "Go Fund Me" page link on email or facebook to help off set the lost income.
Note: I removed dog walking since Della is too shy/scared to go with strangers since she is still new to us. Our neighbors will try tonight with Chris and we'll go from there. She is very protective of me.
Thank you in advance for helping me on my healing journey.
