On April  23, 2019 Leanne was diagnosed with Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma in her left breast. She had a successful Lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy. The cancer had not spread to the lymph node and her margins were clear as were the lymph nodes. Preventative radiation treatment followed. Her recurrence rate was between 1-3%.  After radiation, Leanne developed serious pain and was diagnosed with shingles. She has struggled with pain  in different areas since the radiation.  She had been doing physical therapy to strengthen her weakened body.  On January 22, 2020 Leanne awoke to a very sore neck. She went to the chiropractor the following Monday to receive help for that issue. After continuing physical therapy and chiropractic care, her pain increased and began to increase drastically. Both her physical therapist and chiropractor encouraged her to contact her oncologist. Her oncologist scheduled a CT Scan on Jan. 29, 2020.  Jan. 31, 2020, Leanne found out her breast cancer had spread to her spine and she was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.  In addition, she has 3 fractured vertebrae as well as broken ribs. She was admitted to Fergus Falls Regional Healthcare Feb. 3, 2020 for pain control. As of Feb. 6, 2020 she has been in care of the providers at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Her treatment has started with 5 radiation treatments (2 remaining) and she is fighting for relief from pain. Monday, February 10, she is preparing to undergo a 3 hour MRI in order for doctors to give her more in depth information about her spine injuries and depth of the cancer.  Pain control is her first priority at this time. Please keep Leanne in your thoughts and prayers. We will be updating this site moving forward. The outpouring of support and prayer is and has been uplifting. We know we have people praying all around globe and truly appreciate all the concern and love.
