Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Friday February 18th, after enjoying an evening with life-long friends, (Tom, Terry & Greg) Leah (Cason) suffered severe injuries to her skull/brain at her home in Sherburne County.

Dave, Leah's husband, called paramedics to her home the afternoon of Sunday, February 20 th.

Leah was been under intensive medical care for a total of 7 days.  Per the medical professionals providing care for Leah, the injuries sustained are consistent with an assault.  A criminal investigation with the Sherburne County Sheriffs Office is in progress.

As of Wednesday March 2nd Leah continues to make both physical and cognitive progress.  She remains strong willed and determined to, eventually, return to her go-go lifestyle.

Nick and I have been the primary advocates for our mom since she incurred her injuries. Our goal has been, and continues to be, to ensure she gets the highest level of care and support from the medical community, law enforcement, and other domestic abuse advocates. Our presence has proven to be critical in both uncovering additional information and making sure that all aspects of Mom's care are being addressed.

As we move forward, Mom will require ongoing care and support.   The primary reason for this is due to the head injuries she sustained and the increased fall risk.  This will be a long recovery journey, and we will need to look to her friends and family to help us support her as she recovers from her injuries; we would greatly welcome help.

On a more personal note, we would like to say THANK YOU to all of you who have been a friend/family to our Mom, we immensely appreciate your support of our mother as she goes through this life altering trauma.
