I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (specifically myelomonocytic) on 1/22/20. After numerous CBCs since October 2019 a bone marrow biopsy done on 1/21/20 confirmed the diagnosis. It is supposedly a very aggressive leukemia. I had/have no other symptoms and it was only because of following up on abnormal CBCs that the diagnosis was confirmed. Immediate referral to an oncologist THAT DAY (by the hematologist my primary care physician originally referred me to), led to an immediate month long chemotherapy regimen at Good Samaritan Hospital.
