In September doctors discovered a large mass attached to Laurel's ovary (21mm). Soon after she was diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer. Her Ovarian cancer is a rare form within ovarian cancers called, "Clear Cell Carcinoma". She accumulated large quantities of fluid (ascites) in her abdomen and from scans surgeons determined at this point it was not an option to have surgery. Unfortunately, cancer has spread throughout the stomach and around the liver. Laurel began chemotherapy (Nov. 12) in hopes the cancer would decrease to make surgery a possibility. She will have 3 rounds of chemotherapy over 9 weeks and then doctors will scan and give us the next step. God has entrusted this difficult time to our family and we are asking that you will pray for us and our faith in Him. We are trying our best to "consider it joy." We are experiencing a battle on many fronts but are met by the Lord through his people and things only he can provide in the moments we need them.
