Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting this page and tracking my healing journey.

A little history:

I was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer in 2016 --and went through double mastectomy and reconstruction surgeries that year--with a good outcome and a very low risk of recurrence (no lymph involvement,etc.).  I continued my work with my functional medicine doctor and acupuncturist that following year and felt strong and well--and was focused on publishing my book of poems and teaching & expanding my work in various ways. With my kiddos now mostly out of the home (Mariah, who is 21 and is entering her senior year at BU and Simon who is 26 and trying life on in Ireland!)--I was in the midst of exploring and enjoying a new era of life.

In March of 2018, after returning from guiding an exquisite and joyful trip to Ecuador with the Pachamama Alliance, I discovered that the cancer had returned and metastasized to the bone. The news was utterly shocking to me and my family--and it has been a powerful and intense journey these last three months.  I am so grateful to be feeling stronger and stronger every day!

I am taking an integrative approach to my healing--and am currently taking  a combination of hormone therapy medications, as well as engaging in regular acupuncture and taking a protocol of supplements/herbs (prescribed by a naturopathic oncologist), and engaging in a whole host of therapies and practices that support my mind-body-spirit.

I am focusing on fully healing from this cancer and building on the foundation of this positive momentum that has been created these last months. I am surrounding myself in with the stories and wisdom of people who have made this kind of journey and are well and thriving today.  We are such resilient and magical beings!

Below,  I'm including a letter with information about a Healing Fund, in case you are interested in supporting in this way.  Healing from cancer is a full time practice right now.  Any amount helps!

And....I want to thank you all for being so incredibly supportive in all the ways you have--near or far---emails, cards, donations, heartfelt sharing--it has all been SO beautiful to receive. Please know how much it means to me!  Every time someone reaches out, it touches me so deeply--balm to my heart.

This healing path has been both challenging and rough and full of beauty, miracles, magic and grace (of the small and grand kind). So many angels and synchronicities continue to show up.

Love HEALS-- I feel and know this in my bones!

Big hugs.

I love you all!

LETTER for HEALING FUND

As you may know, Laura returned from leading a trip for Pachamama Alliance in Ecuador in late March and discovered a few days later that her breast cancer had returned and moved into her bones.  Since then she has spent time in the hospital and has been undergoing many treatments, tests, and consultations.  Laura has also been developing an integrative care team and plan. She has met with integrative oncologists and health professionals to get recommendations on her treatment and care plan. Laura has also received a tremendous amount of support from family and friends.

In a recent message on her Caring Bridge site (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lauraweaver3), Laura shared: “I have found a good rhythm with my healing work/appointments/protocols--and my dear resilient body is working well with the treatments I am in the midst of (both the hormone therapy and all the supplements and integrative medicine). Working with my acupuncturist and naturopathic oncologist has been incredibly helpful and informative. I will be adding a natural immunotherapy to my protocol in the next weeks.”

As we all know, many of these treatments and consultations are not covered by her health care plan.   Below is a list of expenses on a weekly and monthly basis that you can support with a donation!

$200 covers one appt. with her naturopathic oncologist(monthly appt)
$300 covers one month of natural immunotherapy
$500 covers one months supply of supplements and herbs
$150 covers one week of groceries
$500 covers one month of acupuncture and chinese herbs
$400 covers additional healing services (infrared sauna, energy healing, etc)
$3500 covers one month of basic expenses (while I'm on leave and coming back to work part time--this does not cover treatments and medicines)
