Just two days before the 4th of July, our family received devastating, terrifying news: our mom needs a heart transplant as soon as possible. Although she's had long-term cardiac complications, it came as a shock to us that she needs a transplant immediately due to her rapidly declining heart function.
Although this was extremely scary & unexpected news, please don't misunderstand that we feel truly grateful and eternally blessed for many things. We are thankful:
***Most importantly, that our mom is eligible for a heart. Because of this, we are able to spend 20+ more years with her. ***That someone who tragically will lose their life will be able to give more to our mom. ***To have family and friends that support our mom through one of the (if not THE) scariest seasons of her life. ***For the incredibly talented doctors at Mayo who have taken care of our mom and who we are confident will make her healthier. ***For our unwavering faith that we are clinging to during this time of uncertainty - for we know that God is in complete control.
We are using this CaringBridge site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting - we are so lucky to have all of you in our lives!
