Our journey and fight to beat breast cancer started when Laura was getting ready for work in late February. She accidently found a lump in her left breast. Within a week,  after a mammogram there was a biopsy scheduled. We had an appointment to get the results of the biopsy the very next day, March 06, 2018. That was the day we were given the news that Laura was positive for invasive ductal adenocarcinoma. Stage 1, Grade 3.  We learned that day and over the next few days that her cancer is considered a triple negative, this means that when they tested the cancer with the 3 main hormones it was unaffected by any of them. In laymen's terms, and the oncologists words, she has the most invasive and fastest growing type of breast cancer. This also means that chemotherapy is definitely in her future. Difficult day for us both!!!
