My beautiful and amazing sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer January 5, 2017. She tested positive for the BRCA II gene in her twenties. During her routine exam, her doctor recommended a mammogram. From that moment forward her world changed. The biopsy came back positive for cancer. My brother and Lauralee were then charged with the task of telling family and friends. But the most difficult would be their two young sons. Shock and devastation soon gave way to looking ahead and what needed to be done to fight. Family and friends near and far showered their love and well wishes upon my sister-in-law, brother, and sweet nephews. Lauralee and Josh both said that a diagnosis like this really puts things into perspective. You begin to realize what is really important in life and what is not. They said that they have felt love pour out from others, even from places that were unexpected.
I would like to personally thank everyone who has reached out to Lauralee and my brother. Your kindness and generosity is truly appreciated.
This site is designed to give family and friends updates on Lauralee's treatment. It is also a place where you can share your well-wishes to her and to the family. Also, if you would like to contribute in any way to her care by dropping off a meal, donating funds by 'gofundme', or sending any other gift this is the place to start.
