In March 2017 at an annual gyn exam my doctor found a lump in my breast. This led to biopsies and other testing that resulted in the diagnosis of breast cancer on May 23rd. This was a total shock to all of us, including my surgeon. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy on June 26. I had another smaller surgery July 17, and here we are today. I am healing well, and feel pretty good. I have a limited range of motion and cannot lift anything heavy, but I'm improving.
