Here is what we plan to chalk up on the list of Larry's great stories!

On March 9th at about 11:50 AM, my dad was in a motorcycle accident in AZ. There was a dog in the middle of the road that started the accident, the car in front pulled into the middle of the road and stopped, the car behind moved part way to the side, my dad going approx. 65 MPH came up behind and likely laid his bike down to prevent hitting the vehicle in front of him. He was coherent immediately after the accident and was able to call Solveig and let her know that he was in an accident. This is good. However, he was sent to the hospital via med flight. Upon arrival he didn't have simple commands etc..  They intubated him. The doctor did a crani last night and removed part of his left skull to help make room for the brain swelling, he has a broken right tibula and fibula and an orbital eye fracture.  The big guy looks rough.

They are planning on doing surgery on his ankle at 6:00 tonight, we are awaiting a phone call from the doctor. He has many lesions on his skull and a major brain injury. We are 24 hours in and have seen some good progress to keep us hopeful and optimistic. However, he needs 72 hours or more to rest and let his brain heal.

Today we got in, and when they lightened up the pain and sedative meds, he was able to open his eyes and respond to simple commands. This is what we need to see. We need prayers that God and Dad will lead us in the right direction, patience for his healing and extra prayers for his care team.

Thank you in advance for all the support and prayers!

Our dad our HERO!
