Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Monday, 11/12, my dad was at work at the end of his overnight shift doing his rounds at the water plant in Sand Springs. He slipped and fell on the ice hitting his head and his neck.  He laid there unable to move for about 30-40 minutes outside in 32 degree temps until his boss found him. He hit his neck and his head when he fell.   Since his fall, he has not had any feeling from his neck down. I spoke with the surgeon today and he does not think the spinal damage can ever be repaired and my dad will most likely be in a wheel chair the rest of his life. They did surgery this evening to stabilize his neck so that he could sit up. He did come out of surgery and his vitals were good. I'm awaiting an update. My dad has had a few hard years, with his wife (my mom) dying about 5 years ago (11/14) and my brother/his son in May 2016.

Scot and I and the kids are heading there the end of the week and have some difficult decisions to be made. Ronda, my sister in law and her kids have been helping . We are blessed beyond measure to have a "faith family" in Tulsa.  Our church family, Destiny, in which we have not been too since we moved in over 10 years visited my dad today before surgery and I know it meant so much to my dad!  I have other friends that I have reached out to in order to help in other ways and they were so quick to respond/help. We are blessed.
