Larry was diagnosed in mid 2015 with a fast-moving form of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The disease has robbed Larry of his ability to speak, to easily move and eat. Larry's impressive intellect and great heart are trapped inside. His senses are working, but his ability to communicate is dimming. He is able to read, and he enjoys messages from friends and family.
