Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. When there are updates I struggle to reach everyone and don’t want to leave anyone out so this felt like the best option. I’m praying this is the shortest CaringBridge account ever created! Today, (10/14), Lanny was injured at work. I don’t know a lot and he isn’t able to tell us what happened. What I do know is that a steel I-beam fell on him. It was facing him when it fell. It knocked his hard hat off and I believe he fell backward hitting his head. The I-beam proceeded to fall on his left side and crushed his abdomen.
He’s very fortunate that his injuries are not worse. He was brought to the Women’s Hospital where they stabilized him. They were concerned there might be internal injuries they couldn’t see so they transferred him by ambulance to UNMC Trauma center. While running tests at UNMC they felt there was enough concern of internal bleeding that they needed to take him to surgery. He’s in surgery now. I’m here waiting to see him. If you believe, would you please say a prayer for him? This man is my best friend and I plan on spending many more years being ornery with him.
