I wanted to share with all of you what I have been going through since December of 2017. I will use this site to update you on how I am doing and will read your comments when I am able to.

On December 13th, I went to see my doctor after experiencing stomach pains for 3 weeks after meals. He requested that I have a CT scan done. On December 14th, Dr Tsang shared with me that it didn't look good and it might be cancer. He later confirmed after reviewing the results on December 18th that it was Pancreatic Cancer, Stage 4 and it had metastasized to my liver and lymph nodes. I was told at this time that I had 6 months to live. On December 19th, I went to the UCSF ER for pain. After a 4-hour wait, I was admitted into the hospital. On December 20th, they performed an ultrasound, EKG, biopsy and treated me with pain medication and anti-nausea meds. I was released from the hospital on December 21st.

On December 29th, my Primary Doctor, Dr. Lou confirmed my biopsy results that the diagnosis and prognosis were accurate. I was referred to the UCSF Oncologist, Dr. Cinar.

In early January, I was admitted to UCSF for pain. I was advised I had blood clots and was treated for them. I received my port and my first chemotherapy infusion.

On Thursday January 18th, I was admitted once again to UCSF for pain. They are watching the tumor closely & checking my markers. They are trying to determine a good regimen for pain and nausea. They are also trying to find the source/reason for my internal bleeding.

I was just released today from the hospital. I have good days and bad days so I apologize if I have not gotten back to your email, call or text. My sister, Sabrina, is staying with me for a few weeks so please contact her at 949.633.6123 if you have questions.

I will keep you posted with any updates & thank you for your love and support,

Lani
