Landon was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2014, but didn’t begin to have major issues with it until October 2018. After medicines failed to ease it, he dropped 40 lbs, his hemoglobin got down to 6.4, he had run a moderate fever off and on each day for a month, and he was admitted to the hospital. Each time he would improve while on antibiotics and then after 5 days or so in the hospital, he would be discharged. He would make it up to 36 hours at home before running a temp of 103.5-104.1 and have to go back. Eventually, it was discovered that he had an infection on the aortic valve of his heart. Later blood tests showed a second infection, in addition to the endocarditis: a virus called CMV was in his already sick colon. That’s three diseases, any one of which would put a person in the hospital. Treatment of his Colitis had to stop, because treating it would aggravate the infections in his heart and colon, but only treating the infections has left the Colitis to worsen. Landon will need a lot of prayer through this recovery journey. The purpose of this site is to update family and friends who are actively praying, so that they can continue to intercede.
