Welcome to Landi's CaringBridge website. It was created to keep friends and family updated. Get started by reading the introduction to the website, My Story.

My kidney disease journey began with the birth of my daughter in 1990. It was discovered in February 2006, I was Stage 3 at the time. I developed diabetes and was diagnosed 7/7/7 after having acute pancreatitis due to a gallstone stuck in my pancreatic duct.

In February of 2016, I needed to have a fistula placed in my left arm. I have since lost 75 pounds so that I could be on the kidney transplant list. I removed myself from the list in January 2017 to have the spinal surgery and walk now without pain. Because I am not on a transplant list or currently on Dialysis due to other reasons, I am terminal. I have to be able to walk 25 minutes straight to get myself back on the list. Working on it. The best thing about my health is my diabetes and I work damn hard to make sure of it.

I just got out of the hospital on Friday, June 23, 2017, due to a GI bleed from a colonoscopy I had 10 days prior. I have Anemia (a kidney disease complication), and needed 3 units of blood and other procedures to control the bleed. These keep setting me back from getting back on the transplant list. Also, it makes my GFR hover back into ESRD (terminal) .
