Dear Friends and Family,

We wanted to create this page to make it easier to keep you informed about Laine.  As most of you know, she was diagnosed with breast cancer
Thursday, December 15th after a biopsy revealed that she had stage 2, invasive mammary carcinoma, also known as ductal cancer with positive
estrogen receptors.

We caught it fairly early and she is in good hands.  Laine continues to have many tests to determine the best course of action, but early indications are that she will have surgery  as soon as Friday, January 6th, but we are awaiting confirmation from our doctors and Piedmont surgery center. Chemo and radiation following surgery are likely, but to what extent will be contingent on further testing.  At this point, all we can do is take things one step at a time.

Laine found the lump during a self-breast exam and called her doctor for a mammogram immediately.  Ladies, please make sure to give your
self-routine breast exams. This was completely unexpected and we are so glad we caught it when we did!

Please know that Laine appreciates all the prayers, text messages and phone calls. As you can imagine she is a little overwhelmed by
this diagnosis and will respond when she feels up to it. Please pray for a full recovery. Your prayers give her strength!

Thanks,
