Kyle (age 24 at the time) got diagnosed with stage III diffuse large B-cell (non-Hodgkin’s) lymphoma on the Monday of Thanksgiving week (Nov 23, 2016).
His symptoms came on suddenly, mostly pain in his left side and left shoulder. He checked into a hospital and was immediately put on morphine. A CT scan revealed that his spleen had nearly doubled in size (which was causing the pain), and that he had some enlarged lymph nodes behind his stomach. They took a biopsy of a couple of those lymph nodes and one week later, we were told he had cancer.
His chemo treatments will be administered every 3 weeks, for a total of 6-8 treatments. He had his first successful chemo treatment on Dec 2nd (no reactions).
After chemo he will receive a bone marrow (stem cell) transplant.
We are asking for prayers that the treatments work, and that he doesn’t have any permanent side effects.
