By God's grace, a life insurance test in July of 2015 saved my life! After many months of testing, I was diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease called "Primary Biliary Cholangitis." The disease attacks the bile ducts of my liver. Delivering Miss Kennedy back in May of 2018 set off an insane chain of events health wise. From Pre-eclampsia and HELLP Syndrome to a failed gallbladder and a post-op staph infection, my liver function declined and has continued in its rapid decline ever since. In the Fall of 2019, I became symptomatic due to my liver issues. Severe pruritus (itching) from the high levels of bile acid, and feeling fluish most of the time. My amazing team at Mayo Clinic Arizona did everything they could to help, but nothing worked. In May of 2020, I was referred for liver transplant. Upon arrival for my transplant evaluation, I was told that Mayo Clinic would no longer work with my insurance.
After fighting this crazy insurance battle since May, the Lord has made a way where it seemed there was no way! I will be having my liver transplant on Monday, April 5th at UCHealth in Denver.
We fully believe that God has a great plan for me and our family and that a new season is coming! We want to use this site to keep those we love updated in a timely manner, as it can be difficult to communicate with so many when not feeling the greatest.
