Kristen was recently diagnosed with a congenital heart defect - technically an Atrial Septal Defect which is a hole in her heart. The cardiologists explained to us that it was about 2cm in size and she would have a procedure to close the hole. On March 13, 2017, Kristen had a cardiac catheter procedure and the cardiologist successfully implanted a device. All seemed well with Kristen after the procedure but she began to have chest pain, headaches, dizziness, and fatigue. She is now suffering episodes of severe chest pain with an accompanying headache, blurred vision, nausea, and dizziness - daily. We believe she may be having a reaction to the implant and are in the process of getting tested for allergies to the material (55% Nickel & 45% Titanium). We so appreciate the family and friends who have helped us cope with this and we hope this website will help us keep everyone who loves Kristen informed about her journey.
