My name is Kristen and i have stage 4 spindle cell melanoma which has spread to my brain
I was first dx with melanoma on 1.14.10 with a spot on my right upper arm that looked like a zit. It had been there a couple of months and I didnt initially worry about ir much. I was working FT as a Physician Assistant  in a busy Urgent Care office. My scrubs shirt sleeve hems would rub on the " pimple " and make it bleed sometimes. Because of the nature of my work, I ended up getting a MRSA infection in the spot, and took prescribed antibiotics.  i woke one morning a couple of weeks later, and it had drastically changed into a 1cm nodule, perfectly round and raised, like a red Spree Candy stuck on my arm. I saw a dermatologist, Dr Nelson in Murfreesboro TN who removed it and sent it off for testing.i got the call, at work, that i had stage 2B melanoma a few days later.i rarely miss work and even more rarely cry, but that day I did both!
